The Philosophy

Better to live by your own nature imperfectly than another's with perfection.

Humans have the highest level of consciousness of all living creatures. This higher consciousness is manifest in our ability to think, plan, forecast, feel and emote, express through language, and create new things that are useful for life.

It also means we can think of life beyond its apparent physical needs. It is natural that we think of leading a fulfilling life. But what does fulfillment actually mean? Limiting our identity to just the gross aspects of life — physical needs, individual pleasures, group belonging — draws us through endless cycles of pleasure and pain.

Every human being is unique. We each flower most fully when we focus on our own passions, abilities, and destiny — destiny not as a fatalistic concept, but as a natural flow of life that we swim with rather than resist. One's Dharma is to lead a life as per their own nature, in the most unique way possible. That is what results in a fulfilling life.

Swadharmaha is a space built around this one idea: the resources, reflections, and community here exist to help you find and follow your own path — not someone else's template.

The Person Behind It

V

Venu

Founder, Swadharmaha

Venu's journey into the philosophy of Swadharmaha has been a personal one — shaped by years of engagement with Advaita Vedanta, the life and teachings of Ramana Maharshi, and the practical challenge of living the Gita's wisdom in ordinary daily life.

The writings, book reviews, and reflections shared here are drawn from that ongoing exploration — not from a position of authority, but of sincere inquiry. The goal is to create a curated space where the teachings of great sages and thinkers are made accessible to a modern seeker.

Venu is based in Columbus, Indiana, and welcomes conversations with fellow seekers.
